{it's a girl!}

We're having a GIRL! We are so excited. We had the best time at our ultrasound; it was so fun to see our baby!! We were both so fascinated; what an amazing miracle it all is. She even yawned and stuck her tongue out during the ultrasound; it was too cute. Towards the end of the ultrasound came time to find out the gender and the technician typed on the screen "Girl Power" and then it hit after a second; we're having a girl!! Time to start shopping!

{almost halfway}

We are now officially at 19 weeks and 2 days; almost halfway there! We will find out the gender in 10 days and can't wait. Then I can start to plan and organize like crazy. I have felt a few flutters here and there and I can't wait to feel the baby move more consistently pretty soon.

Being pregnant is literally one of the greatest miracles ever; it's hard to completely wrap my brain around the fact that there is a person growing inside of me. It's just another testament that God lives and that we aren't here by random chance or accident.

Travis is so great and is always willing to help out with anything, on top of managing the most hectic school, work, and church calling combo I've ever seen. He is perfect for me. We can't wait to meet this baby in a few more months!

{pumpkin carving}

We had a fun night carving pumpkins with Andrew and Caitlyn! We each bought 20 pound pumpkins and had to cut super hard to get through it all the way. We had apple cider and pumpkin chocolate chip cookies and had catching up!

{fall in utah}

We live in such a beautiful part of the world! The colorful leaves are so vibrant right now. Bring on the apple cider and pumpkin carving. Plus, the weather is perfect right now! We had a fun drive up Provo Canyon to get a closer glimpse before the snow comes!

{one year anniversary}

Yesterday was our one year anniversary!! What an amazing and fast year it has been. Travis really wanted the car during the day, so he dropped me off at work and picked me up early to head to Salt Lake City. We walked around Temple Square and then ate dinner at The Roof which is on the top floor of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. Very fancy and very good food! Complete with one of the greatest views I've ever seen!

Our reservation was for an earlier time slot at 6 p.m. so it wasn't crowded at all. Right after we sit down, Elder Holland walks in with his wife and some friends. I about died! For years I have absolutely loved Elder Holland and can quote many excerpts from many of his talks. I love the way he speaks and the power he brings. The restaurant is a buffet, which meant we were all in the same area at random times getting food, so it was definitely a highlight being around him!

When we got home I found a sparkling clean house, a rose petal path leading to our room, and our favorite treats waiting there ~ york peppermint patties and sour patch watermelon! He is the sweetest and best husband I could have ever imagined. We watched a few episodes of White Collar {which we love} and just had a fabulous night! We are looking forward to many, many more anniversaries to come!

{general conference}

We love General Conference weekends! {http://www.lds.org/general-conference}We spent most of the weekend at my grandparent's house. My dad also got us 4 tickets, so we were able to go up with Alison and her friend Jacob to the first session on Saturday. We were there for the big announcement of the new age for missionaries and the spirit in the Conference Center was amazing. Guys can now serve at age 18 and girls at 19. What a change! There will be such an increase in missionaries now.

Afterwords every restaurant was seriously an hour wait. We found a Subway next to the parking garage and I had  to eat right then. Seriously starving. I ended up eating an entire footlong sandwich, bag of chips, and a cookie and officially realized I'm pregnant!! But for real, I have never eaten that much and Travis was definitely impressed.
