We've been soaking up all this amazing NC weather this summer! It's been unreal. The past week or so it's been in the 70's with sun. We've taken lots of long walks with friends and having been enjoying the pleasant weather. Jake had his two bottom teeth pop up this month and he also started scooting on the ground {especially for electronics}! We've started baby proofing to say the least. Apparently our TV was too small and Jake could pull it down on himself {true}, so the only option {not true} according to Travis was to get a different, bigger TV to mount to the wall. I caved. It was delivered yesterday and it will be so good for us! My birthday was also wonderful---Travis planned all sorts of fun things and a highlight was Natalie taking Jake for a bit while we enjoyed a quite meal out at a Mexican restaurant with just the two of us. It was a great day!

Jake is now seven months! He can sit up, eat solids, has a tooth and another on the way, and is as cute and fun as ever. We had fun this month getting free Chick-fil-A with friends for dressing like cows (and then again later with Travis), watching the world cup, going to the Durham Life & Science Museum, enjoying amazing weather, and eating at Red Robbin with the Dahles, who have become our Red Robbin partners-in-crime. This time we all got something new off the menu to try and we weren't disappointed. Kate also insisted she hug me and Natalie at the same time around the neck for quite some time---so cute! We are so grateful for all of our wonderful friends here in NC!

{jake lately}

I cannot believe it's been almost 7 months since our little man was born. He is full of smiles all day long and we can't stop smiling back! He has recently learned to sit up on his own and is pounding tubs of baby food like it's going out of business. We are so grateful to have Jake in our lives!

And pictured below are some of Jake's favorite rattles; they used to be mine as a baby! How awesome is my mom for saving them??
