{washington dc}
We took our first trip with a baby and it was a success! My cousin was married in the Washington DC temple last week so we made the trip up to be there. Travis had never been to DC before so it was way fun showing him the sites. My good friend Tamra and her husband and cute son live right in downtown DC and we're so nice to let us stay with them! After the wedding we stayed in DC an extra couple of days. We saw a lot of the monuments, the Library of Congress, the White house, took the metro, and ate a delicious breakfast at the cutest farmers market. Also lunch at Potbelly's was amazing! They need to get one here in Chapel Hill. Jake did great considering we were on the go most of the time and he had a couple of late nights. It was so great seeing my dad and sister at the wedding too. My dad actually flew to Raleigh a few days before and stayed with us then drove up with us to DC. It was so great to have him here. It was actually Travis' birthday the day we drove home from DC. We celebrated with cherry cheesecake and presents. Earlier in the week, my dad was nice enough to watch Jake so Trav and I could go see How to Train your Dragon 2 at the theater! It was great! And it was the first movie we'd been to at a theater in quite some time. My dad loved just spending every minute with Jake and it was so fun to watch them together! It was also so fun to see most of my extended family on the Garlick side at the wedding, and of course to be with Tamra and her family!

Looks so fun! I love all these people and I bet your dad was just over the moon seeing baby Jake.
