At the end of July I turned 25! I can't believe my birthday is already here---that means we add another birthday in our family in just a few more weeks! The night before my birthday some friends of mine and I went to the Cheesecake Factory for cheesecake where it was all half price. The Oreo flavor will never disappoint. Two of my friends have birthdays the same week as me so it was a fun birthday celebration!
The morning of my birthday I opened up all the presents. My boys definitely spoiled me! Travis gave me a jar filled with 25 popsicle sticks of date night plans, one per week. He also gave me an instruction sheet with exact instructions. For instance how we have to take a picture each time and how the stick has to be pulled one week in advance to make sure we have a babysitter if needed etc. It was the cutest and I'm looking forward to all these date nights! Among other things like a gift certificate to do my nails, candy, and my fave spray from bath and body works, Trav gave me some creative things like this money he made into a dress and ring. I can't get over how cute the dress is. Not sure if I will ever want to undo it and spend it!
With it being so hot and me being so pregnant, my wedding ring hasn't fit my swollen fingers for the last month, but this one fits just right! Travis really wants me to wear it in public...
Travis also made me this rose out of a Coke can!
Jake wasn't too sure about the happy birthday sign.
We ate lunch at On the Border---one of my favorite Mexican places. Jake loved the dessert he got with his kids meal the most.
Jake's first time eating my favorite and must-have-every-year birthday cake. He loved it! We also ate at Chick-fil-A for dinner and watched a movie that night. Travis was home the whole day which was so fun for a weekday. I really love his flexible schedule. It was the perfect day!
And some highlights from the last part of July. Some days Jake has hardly any tantrums and some days are filled with them. This was his face almost all day. He was just mad!
After one tantrum he just wanted to stand by the door holding Trav's hand. It was prettty funny. And sad.
Sitting in a bucket to play with toys...
He wanted some snacks on the couch with him so he carried them over then said "show" and he just sat there next to his snacks, not even eating them. It was hilarious! He just wanted them close I guess in case he got hungry at some point.
We are in full baby-prep mode over here! Jake will point to my belly when we say where's the baby and he definitely notices my ever-growing belly, but he definitely does not grasp what is coming our way soon enough. He's been practicing putting his dog in the car seat and the baby's bed, but he likes to pull it by the nose to pick him up and then throw him around. We are going to have our hands full in just over 2 weeks!
