{christmas}

We had a great trip in Vancouver, Washington for Christmas! Lots of fun game nights, movies, catching up, yummy food, and catching up on sleep! We saw a play, had lunch with the girls, built a fire, and went shopping at IKEA too (I may or may not have bought a high chair there that I've wanted and fit it in our suitcases!! It's completely plastic so no more trying to clean nasty fabric). Jake did pretty well flying on such long flights. Although he only slept a total of 30 minutes on the plane which made for a crazy day! A 3 hour time zone change is no joke for anyone.

Lots of playtime with daddy! I spy dad...under the blanket.

Lots of fun with lots of cousins! Jake loved all the attention.

We had fun meeting up with our friends Blaine and Jessica!

Jake found the stairs and was obsessed with climbing them! He can go up great; never figured out how to go down very well though.

Jake doesn't let others nap; he has to figure out what they're doing! He was quick to wake grandma up.

We ate breakfast one morning at a yummy waffle place in Portland. Where's the waffle??!

Travis' brother Scott and Asher with Trav and Jake waiting to see Santa!

We went to the mall to see Santa! I may or may not have gone up a floor to sneak a pic from the balcony since they were charging a ridiculous amount of $$ for a picture!!

Jake thought these cars in the mall were better than Disneyland.

Story time with Grandma Dyer.

Christmas Eve family selfie. Jake looks 3 years old here.

Our little nativity sheep!

Dyer cousin nativity!

Christmas morning!!

This kid was yawning all morning---he was wide awake at 2:30am! I guess he was just too excited.

We had one suitcase get lost flying home to NC. Luckily they located it and delivered it to us the next day. We came right back into real life with Jake getting his 1 year old shots at the doctor the day after flying in. He did great though and I am now in the process of weaning him completely. He's down to just nursing once a day before bed at night. It's amazing the growth that happens everyday and all the things he catches onto. He knows what the words clap, kisses, and high-five mean, and I'm sure a lot more we haven't identified. He could totally walk if he wanted it too---we think he would just rather crawl. He walks like crazy if he's even barely holding onto something, but just doesn't want to let go completely. It's crazy to think we've had him for a whole year, but then another part of me can't believe it's only been a year that we've had him since he's always felt like a part of us!
