{december 2015}

Getting ready to go to tithing settlement! Jake {and his white shirt} loved getting to eat a candy cane from the Bishop!

We decorated sugar cookies and Jake didn't do too bad with the sprinkles! This one turned out pretty cute.

One night of our advent calendar said to sleep under the Christmas tree. We did our normal bedtime routine but then went out on the air mattress and watched the movie Minions! After the movie it was definitely going to be a struggle to get Jake to ever fall asleep out there so we decided to just put him in his crib and sleep under the tree when he understands more. Why get bad sleep right now if he doesn't know any different?? haha

Mouthful of popcorn.

One day we decorated gingerbread houses! Jake had a blast.

The day before Jake's 2nd birthday was a Sunday and I was getting things ready for church while Travis was at his weekly meetings. Jake thought we were getting ready to go somewhere in the stroller so he started to climb in. He was standing on the edge and as I moved the stroller he fell off onto our tile and hit his head pretty hard. He reacted normal and we went to church. During sacrament meeting though we noticed he was super fussy and really lethargic. Then he looked pale. So, we decided to leave and as we were walking up to our house he threw up. We then decided better safe then sorry and took him to the ER and found out he had a mild concussion. He was so good to do everything the doctor's asked him! It was scary and so sad but thankfully everything checked out great and he was back to himself as the day went on!

Jake turned 2 this month! I can't believe it. He is such a spunky, energetic, independent, sweet, loving little guy. He definitely keeps us on our toes---this toddler phase isn't a joke. But he also has the sweetest, funniest, cutest moments and days. We love him so much! We had a little birthday party for him with some friends the weekend before---truck themed of course. On the day of his birthday we cut back on our some of our plans and decided to take it easy, since Jake needed to still recover from his fall. But he got to see some pretty cool trucks out the window and we played outside with some friends! We also went to Chick-fil-A which is a must if celebrating or really any occasion is happening.

Pin the wheels on the truck!

A couple Saturdays before Christmas we walked down through campus to Franklin Street where we watched the Chapel Hill Christmas Parade with friends. Jake was in heaven with all of the firetrucks and floats! He loved it. We soaked up amazing weather this month! Flipflops and all.

UNC backward hats only club right here.

These are my new obsession. I can't get enough of them!

Evelyn turned 4 months!! She is just the sweetest little thing and growing too fast.

Jake didn't like sitting on Santa's lap. He started to scream and jumped off. Then Santa told Jake he could have a candy cane if he sat on his lap---Jake jumped right back on with a smile!

This was our first Christmas in our home with just the four of us. We loved every second of it! We had a fun month of an advent calendar leading up to Christmas day with something fun to do each day. It was so nice to not have much of a schedule and just be together over the break! We had a lot of fun and made some great memories. We also had some great Christmas Eve/Christmas celebrations with some great friends who really are our family! On Christmas morning Jake had to run through a sheet to see all of his presents and it was all so much fun to watch! He spent the day playing with one new toy after another, definitely over-stimulated and as happy as can be.
