{january 2016}

The two pictures below I forgot to include last month! We had a really fun friend Christmas party in the middle of December. We had dinner and dessert and then watched each family's music video. Every family made a music video and they were all amazing! We were laughing so hard.

We had a fabulous dinner at our friend's house on Christmas day. The kids acted out the nativity but Jake was not into the idea of dressing up! He carried the shepherd's staff around which proved to be a little dangerous.

Jake LOVES to do the dishes. It usually ends in a wet mess, but it's worth it.

Ev matching with Leila!

Jake figuring out how to peel an orange...

I had a little extra expressed milk one day and decided to let Evelyn try a tiny bit in a bottle one time for fun! Jake loved this.

Jake loving his new play kitchen!

We camped indoors one day complete with chocolate and a campfire!

We celebrated the New Year with some of our favorite people! Trav's selfie stick came through for us here.

We went and hit pots and pans outside when "midnight" came {a few hours early} and the kids literally just stared at us like "you actually want us to be loud and crazy right now??"

Ev's got quite the peach fuzz hair these days.

We love seeing Regina at church!

Yummy ice cream at Maple View Farm!

Jake doesn't know how good he has it getting to go to UNC basketball games!

Her first taste of solids was an avocado!

Evelyn is changing so much it's hard to pinpoint who she looks like, but this picture I took of her after her bath definitely reminds me of Jake's baby pictures.

Who says moms can't match their boys??

Evelyn had a MASSIVE blowout during Sacrament meeting one Sunday. Travis was holding her and it came out like a fountain. The crazy part is none of the poop got on Ev's dress; it all went on Travis! The suit was old and so light colored that previous water mark stains never came out through dry cleaning, so he decided to just throw away the suit. Good thing she's so cute; we're kind of obsessed with her.

Daddy and Jake doing woodworking projects!

We've had some two year old tantrums now and then...

Makell and Breton came down from DC for a weekend! So fun showing them around. Trav and Bret got to go to a UNC basketball game which was icing on the cake!

Snow!! We usually love the snow here but this year it came on the same weekend Travis was gone to California for a conference. This meant the airport in Raleigh closed so he had to come home a full 24 hours later than planned. Normally this wouldn't be a big deal, but Evelyn came down with RSV the exact 4 days Travis was gone and it was a living nightmare to say the least. Thanks to prayers and good friends, we survived the week and were so happy when Travis got home! The same time as the RSV Ev also cut her two bottom teeth and got and ear infection. She was miserable to say the least and looking back I can't believe we lived to tell about it all!

We tried one breathing treatment on her, but it made her coughing worse and she wasn't wheezing near as badly to begin with as Jake was when he got a virus as a baby so we held off and she recovered fine without it!

Jake was so sweet with Evie while she was sick.

I just want to eat her all day long.

Can I just say how much we are loving Kodiak Cakes over here? Super easy and we make pancakes and waffles quite frequently now. It's all whole grain and protein packed too!

Travis' brother Rick and wife Kelly came to town for a weekend. It was a blast! Rick had work meetings in Cary and we packed in a ton of fun stuff with them. Our favorite place we went to eat was Dames which serves Chicken and Waffles. It was amazing. Travis even hates waffles and really liked this.

We showed the around Duke and went to a North Carolina basketball game!

Kelly spoiled me and went and got pedicures. It was actually my first one every and it was heaven! I just love her!

Jake all ready for church. We are loving him in all his 2 year old glory full of new words every day and just soaking up the world around him.
