this four letter word {literally!} is quite possibly one of the worst sicknesses to get, since there isn't any treatment for it---it just has to run its course. it feels like having strep throat all the time and only advil can help take the edge off! definitely the pits. but ya know what? there are blessings. lots of blessings. today the doctor said that while the mono test came back positive, the blood counts were significantly lower than last week, actually pretty much back to normal. he said it looks like i'm on the mend because of that, and within the week i'll be back 100%. say what??! normal mono for most people can last months and they feel extremely exhausted all the time and have to always sleep. i haven't felt any of that; it's just been my throat going crazy.
i've learned how to gargle salt water like a pro, take mega amounts of vitamin c, down popsicles in minutes, and drink water until i feel water logged. to top it off, i've been blessed with an amazing husband who has taken care of me so well! particularly one who will skip class to take me to the doctor for moral support. in life there will always be times that aren't exactly fun, but that's exactly why we came to earth: to learn, and to grow, and to as a couple become like our heavenly parents. it's all about learning and growing, developing and perfecting. this quote has been coming into my mind frequently this week: "you can't direct the wind, but you can adjust the sails." love that.
and don't worry; i'm not spreading my saliva around! i promise not to spit on you. or kiss you. just a couple more days and i'll have this beat!
the doctor called me lucky, but i call me blessed.
what our counter looks like right now!

Oh Jess, I am sorry! But I am glad that you are blessed:)
