today is my brother nate's twentieth birthday, and in less than one year he'll be home from serving his mission in germany! nate is only eighteen months younger than me and we grew up close {really close}. we went to school together, had similar friends, and even worked at texas a&m together. nate is one of kind; he is so talented in so many ways that i often felt inferior in my own abilities. but then someone in the high school would ask me if i was "nate garlick's sister" {this happened more than i could count} and i would proudly say that i am, and i would realize what a great example he is to me, and he has one of the strongest testimonies of the gospel i have ever seen or heard. nate brings power and i have felt it, and i know the people of germany are feeling it. you can read all about it here:

i'm so excited for travis and nate to meet for real in less than one year! nate the great will be here at byu and we are so excited! travis met him "face to face" on skype on christmas day and it was awesome! i miss this kid like crazy but know he is helping to perform miracles thousands of miles away.
